Building with Oak is very environmentally friendly as it locks up tons of Carbon from the atmosphere as it grows this Carbon is then stored within the beams of the building, with ever changing weather patterns, the talk of global warning and rising fuel and living costs something has to change.
The simple answer is reduction, but how is it achieved? Our current fuel costs are required to run the houses that we live in and our current houses are expensive and damaging to the environment as their construction produces tons of Carbon and uses non sustainable materials.
The only true way to reduce energy costs used during construction and daily running is that they have to built smaller, but nobody wants to live in rooms that are too small.
The Little Oak Frame Company has developed a range of buildings designed to solve the problems.

These buildings are constructed from wood and require no foundations or concrete slab, they are insulated to BS3632 or current Building Regs and are built in modular or kit form and can be erected very quickly on site. In order to resolve the size problem the interiors are open plan, with some areas used for duel purposes but over and above all of that we have tried to make a small living space interesting and desirable.
The smaller buildings are designed for 1-2 people to live in all year round, and make ideal bed sits for both young and elderly people and can be situated in existing gardens with no Planning Permission in some cases as these models have been designed to fall into the same specification as a Mobile home, larger ones are available for families but will require Planning Permission.
Many more designs are available both in drawing and model form to suit all types of locations. We are about to start our next eco project and will post photos ASAP
